About me
I am a product and marketing designer at Sweatcoin, based in London. I'm passionate about people and fascinated by inherent human biases. Currently exploring ways to implement insights from behavioural economics into my approach to user experience design. I believe that perfectionism = procrastination. Using "Principles" by Ray Dalio in my day to day life and work. Able to realistically assess my limits. I believe the best way to learn is by making mistakes. Would hate not to be able to learn from them.

    As the company's priorities shifted in March, I switched to work as a designer in the growth department. This meant I had to rapidly expand my skills to be able to create quick wireframes and prototypes for our product growth tests, which is why I took a number of tutorials in Sketch and Figma, whilst also completing courses on UX-research, UX-design and Behaviour prototyping from BangBangEducation. I am involved in ideation process and user experience design. I also design texts for my interfaces and believe it's important for designer to be able to write contextually appropriate copy as it's a massive part of customer experience. Key learnings: — Great ideas do not come from inspiration — they come from a clearly defined problem. It is therefore utterly important to be able to ask good questions so as to define what the problem is; — One's soft skills are more important than their hard skills; — Interface design is about human psychology, and behavioural economics is a great tool for in UI & UX design; — Empathy one of the most important tools in design; — Owning mistakes is very important to personal and career growth.

    Coming to Sweatcoin as a designer, my scope of work was very wide: I designed posters, press releases, infographics, presentations and websites. Later in my employment, I started focusing mostly on ad design in the growth team. I designed ads for Snapchat, Facebook and Google search ads, also creating some concept ads that we planned to run on Transport for London. Having a keen interest in brand design and brand management, I started noticing the disjoint experience of our users: our ads were promising something that our product couldn't deliver exactly. Having voiced this to our team and the Chief Growth Officer, I conducted a visual audit of our communications across different channels, exposed all inconsistencies and proposed a clearer ownership model, where the Growth team would handle, or at least check all communications so that they are consistent (in absence of clear brand guidelines). To further back up how disjoined comms affect our product, together with our Data Science team, Chief Growth Officer and Product Owner, we looked into how users interact with the app in their first session, and found many indicators that user journeys are not optimal. This work one of the reasons our Product Growth unit was created, which I joined at the end of March. Key learnings: — Design is about creating an interaction with the spectator; — Each company has a brand, and it is an expectation that is created in the customers' heads; — Brand management has an important value to any company, but is often overlooked as this value is not obvious; — Brand vision is an important and powerful tool to align the work of different departments of the business;
