About me
I am a fashion and textiles designer and artist. Having now completed my final year of fashion design studies at Norwich University of the Arts, I am building my fashion and life style brand Dread Decks. With the brand I plan to explore contemporary tailoring and refined streetwear. As the brand grows I plan on becoming more and more sustainable, making use of uk made natural fabrics. I specialise in illustration and design, creating watercolour fashion illustrations and more graphic artwork using a range of mediums. Instagrams : @d0minicread @dreadfashiondeadfashion @dreaddecks

Studio DaysA little while back the fantastic Andrew Gooding came and photographed me and some of my work in the studio! This was a great day!

Brighton With The BoysA photoshoot documenting Dread Decks in the wilds of Brighton. Models Jim, Ben and Max wore printed t shirts and handcrafted hats. I worked to capture the feeling of a summer holiday to Brighton Beach in these photos.

'Don't Give Up On Hope' with Flora Judy and Millie AmiesPhotoshoot combining both my cut and sew garments and my recent 'Don't Give Up On Hope' printed range. We chose to juxtapose the bright colours of the garments against the stark brutalist concrete of the UEA campus buildings. Flora's editing and angles give an electric, mystical feel to this shoot. Expertly she captured the first lights and tones of a fast approaching spring.

Fashion TechnicianNorwich University of the arts
    Norwich, United KingdomPart Time
Working as a technician in Norwich University of the Arts has been a pleasure and a delight. I have learnt a great deal of different skills in regards to teaching and working with students as well as furthering my knowledge of fashion and the fashion industry daily. I work within a tight knit team of lecturers and studios technicians who all strive for the betterment of the students education every day, regardless of what challenges may arise. It has been an honour to work amongst such talented creatives, teachers and motivators. In this role my main duties include offering support and guidance to students through one to one sessions and group workshops and demonstrations. As well as this I maintain the fashion studios, the studio machinery and prepare workshop materials ensuring a clean, well stocked and equipped, professional working environment is available to the students. When working with the students I deliver technical demonstrations surrounding pattern cutting, draping and garment construction. As technicians we work hand in hand with the lecturers to ensure that a wide and varied array of skills and techniques are taught to the students in a clear and efficient manner. I have delivered group workshops in which I show students how to complete and create certain techniques. This was a great learning curve realising that part of educating is ensuring that everyone is occupied and engaged, from the ones who struggle to the high flyers who need extra tasks. I have loved this role and it has opened my eyes to the world of education as a possible career path in the future.

    Workshop InstructorFreshly Greated

During this role I planned and executed four separate workshop series. The first was a Skateboard painting workshop in Cobholm Community Centre. In this workshop I lead a range of people from the local community through the process of designing and painting your own custom painted skateboard. People loved it with each of the 4 sessions having 60 - 80 people attending. The second workshop consisted of 10 day sessions working with the local community to create clay snails as part of the Yarmouth Snail trail. This was an arts trail arranged by Freshly Greated consisting of giant sit in snails, designed and painted by locals, positioned around the town. The clay snail workshops were done to engage young people and the local community allowing them something to take home and remember the art trail with. The third was an origami workshop working in partner with Cobholm Community Primary school. This was an after school workshop in which I worked with students from a range of different year groups and their parents. I took them through the basics of origami and how to make a set of origami lips that would be used as part of a public art installation during the Out There Festival Parade. The final workshop was another skateboard painting workshop this time as part of the Out There Festival. Working with a team of facilitators we had over 100 people come and get involved within the first 45minutes of opening! It was brilliant to see so many people painting and getting involved in art. Running these workshops was a great learning experience and taught me much about engaging children and adults with art.
