We decided we were going to shoot Large Format, specifically ARRI RAW, Open Gate 25FPS on Alexa Mini LF. This decision came from the necessity to get the best out of the large format sensor both for orizontal and vertical framing, as some of the deliverables asked from the client were 4:5 and 9:16 format.

Spending close to two years learning from fellow in-house DOPs and freelance crew members has helped me hone my technical skills with the industry-standard camera and lighting equipment as well as to adjust to the onset workflow and team dynamic within the camera department. In my job at RD Content, I have worked with a variety of clients, including Facebook, Instagram, Manchester City, Williams Racing F1 and Barbour, among others.
Some of my responsibilities included:
- Working closely with the creative team and the production team in pre-production, creating kit lists, bookings and helping with any external kit hires, and leading projects on the day while acting as a Lighting Cameraperson
- Acting as Camera Operator on bigger jobs, involving multiple camera setups
- Acting as Focus Puller on most jobs
- Maintenance and repair of all camera and lighting equipment, including ARRI and RED cameras, professional lighting equipment, monitors, gimbals and drones
- Prepping and checking in a wide variety of equipment
- General maintenance of the kit room
- When not on set, occasionally cutting down, editing (Adobe Premiere Pro) and colour grading footage (DaVinci Resolve)
