An integral and diverse Music & Technology role within a small team at Extreme Music/Sony ATV Music Publishing.
• Preparing audio on albums for release onto an innovative web-based platform. Which includes audio stem collection and formatting from a network of artists and composers, maintenance of and uploading to an FTP Amazon S3 server, post upload and release quality checks and the analysis of user interaction data.
• Maintenance of the audio server, diagnosing issues, to keep the system running seamlessly. Liaising with the server manufacturers (DDP) and external Sony IT staff. Proposed and implemented a new audio server initiative, which provides an in-house mirror of the main server, providing zero downtime and allowing the business to regain full transparent control of cloud storage. This overhaul saved the company over £30,000 in annual costs and fortified the internal audio networking structure of business.
• Designed and coded a web based platform that has simplified and alleviated the problems found from receiving hundreds of transfer links from composers. Audio files are now delivered directly to the audio servers: www.extrememusicuploader.com
• Overseeing the purchasing, production and shipping of client hard drives. Executing IT procedures in order to successfully duplicate 3.7TB of data per drive for use by external clients in post production.
• Identified a niche in the Extreme Music Production Library (Grime Music), researched, pitched, and coordinated the production of this album to release. Liaising and collaborating with a network of artists and producers to complete this album; two songs of which are my own, one as a producer and one as an artist.
• Operating as in house IT Consultant for all IT/AV related functions; this includes the redesign and implementation of a new business meeting and AV area, consulting on Music Technology hardware and software, and coordinating all Apple OSX updates on Audio team machines and all other on site IT.
