About me
I am a writer who’s interested in the unseen, the in-between and that which appears to be lost. My work maps geological and digital space and contorts time, weaving together primary and secondary research in order to question the value of memory – both in the psyche and that which is embedded in physical and digital worlds. I am inherently interested in archaeology and its use of technology to construct broken, speculative stories from the waste and ephemera of past lives. I am primarily fascinated by fashion and dress, and finds it, in all its many shapes and forms, to be an incredibly useful tool in excavating history, politics and memory. In May 2019 I launched the experimental digital magazine Bog (bog.life) which, in response to a sparse fashion publishing landscape, adopts the signifiers of a fashion magazine (the fashion shoot, profiles on fashion designers, etc.) and attempts to broaden and deepen the possibility of what a fashion publication can be. Focusing primarily on research, the result is an ever-evolving journal which aims to challenge the ways in which we connect documentation of the now with its cultural, social and political history and broader cultural studies.  Clients include Cecile Tulkens, René Scheibenbauer, i-D Magazine, TANK Magazine, The Face, AnOther Magazine, Mother Culture Gallery, Gut Magazine and AQNB. Other writing work includes a press text for Marlie Mul’s exhibition Sperms Going to a Fashion Show at Croy Nielsen (2021), a survey of militaristic contemporary dress for Nice Outfit (2021) and a collaborative text which appeared in the Glasgow edition of Dostoyevsky Wannabe’s Cities series in 2022. I was Assistant Curator to Matthew Linde for his exhibitions The Overworked Body: An Anthology of 2000s Dress at Mini/Goethe-Institut Curatorial Residencies Ludlow 38, New York (2017) and Passageways: On Fashion’s Runway at Kunsthalle Bern (2018). In March 2020 she delivered a lecture on the MA Fashion program at HEAD Genève on the history of the performative fashion show, and again in December 2021 was invited to give a lecture on the runway with Matthew Linde.
