Worked on a promotional shoot for Ricky Gervais' upcoming film 'David Brent: Life on the Road'. This promo was to be aired during the Olympic Games 2016 on the Australian network Channel 7. Additional adverts for Cineworld were also shot. Assisted the 2nd camera assistant, focus puller and director of photography; dismantled, carried and packed camera equipment securely after the shoot; became familiar with the basics of a camera department and promotional shoots.
Wrote an article for The Sunday Mirror and received a subheading in print. Conducted research such as fact checking and finding quotes; other assignments included transcribing audio interviews and acting as a runner for journalists. Greatly developed research skills and strengthened communication and punctuality skills.
Secret Sessions are a online music platform who deliver exclusive content from upcoming artists. Shadowed and photographed an acoustic session with the musician Passenger, as well as assisted in recording and filming it; observed how a professional interview is conducted. Also liaised with the talent and his assistant to give them updates on the production crew’s progress and direct them to the filming location. Used my knowledge of social media and micro blogging to promote the session after it was finished.
I graduated with a 2:1 in July 2016. I completed a BA degree in Film & Theatre, studying television alongside these subjects. The course was a mixture of theory and practical. During my time at university, I created a short television piece shot in my building's TV studio. For third year, I wrote a dissertation on giallo film. I received a high 2:1 for both final projects.
