About me
Eleanor Buckley, 23, is a London based creative. Graduating from Goldsmiths University of London with an Art History degree she attained an additional award for Lead Volunteer Promotions/ Marketing and Events Organiser at CEN8. Whilst at university Eleanor volunteered for a creative non profit organisation called CEN8 in which she founded their monthly newsletter, which has now expanded into a blog. Their ethos is to give students the platform to be creative and through this Eleanor submitted many articles and had her own monthly column for 2 years entitled ‘Meet the Professionals’ in which she interviewed creative industry professionals. This gave her the platform to experiment with her writing and and saw the beginnings to her portfolio and interest in journalism. She became the editor of the blog as well as a writer, pitching ideas for articles and sourcing content that the readers would enjoy. Therefore, learning and developing social media and marketing strategies. She has since been involved in various projects, alongside continuously adding to her writing portfolio as seen on this site. She has worked freelance; writing exhibition reviews for The Chopping Block Gallery, The Visual Cultures Society (at Goldsmiths). Working as a gallery assistant and writer for Rejekt Gallery alongside being a PR assistant for Forget About White Walls a PR agency promoting Print Artists and selling prints. Eleanor also has a keen passion for creative direction in visualising and putting an image together. She experimented with this through fashion photography and styling which started as a fashion blog during university. This is also lead to Eleanor working as a Fashion assistant and stylist for Prodirect Sport and a PR and fashion assistant for Syndicut London. In addition to various freelance fashion photography projects alongside Jazz Wilson and Annie King. Have an upcoming project? Can I help you in someway? I'd love to collaborate with you! • Poem: Letting Someone In
Poem: Letting Someone InYou protect your soul in cotton wool wrapping it up tight, intangible to the outside like a caterpillars’ carefully woven cocoon. Each misfortune and betrayal pulling its seams tighter, allowing no room for another. If you were to unravel each piece; carefully untying each insecurity to allow room for us both to breathe, would my vulnerabilities be open for all to see? In my dreams, I’m drowning, is this goodbye? I wake up, wanting to hear you call me. Your gentle smile, gregarious grac
  • Poem: Seeking Motivation
Poem: Seeking MotivationThe questioning of mortality - what can I achieve in my lifetime? While I live out those extensive elevated extraordinary desires that niggle within the cruxes of my brain. When one wakes up, blindly reaching to dismantle and eradicate the ominous repetitive alarm, that beacons the new day, how do you feel? Undoubtably the undeniable sense and adoring comfort of the sheets drawing you to prefer an unconscious existence, in which the body wallows in the resting position. What is the poin
  • Poem: Anger
Poem: AngerI feel my fingers bend and twist in my hand to form a clenched fist as my knuckles flex and whiten, my body tightening. Each millimetre of my being - vexing - as my emotions flow through me like a surging wave, overcoming any rational threads of insight i had previously. FUCK. Madness, anger, irritation, fury and frustration spurred through aguish, agony, despair, torment and desolation. Heartache until all feelings over come your mere corpse and you feel as if your brain will implode, as if
  • Poem: Homicide
Poem: HomicideSelf perpetuating cycle of hopelessness. Rampant crime, subversive lifestyles leading to incipient Infringement - you would unconsciously want to believe the answer to be. That to be the reason. However, individuals are coerced, blackmailed, methodically manipulated or their anger just inexcusable. Innocent lives are impeached. Trepidation and suspicion stenches the air as you hear the echoing gun shot fires. Bullets don't distinguish between the innocent, the guilty and the deserving w

My overall grade after 3 years was a 2:1, a very good result. Over the three years I learnt how to manage my time productively and show initiative to research new ideas and journals in order to broaden my understanding of topics. I learnt how to work to high word count deadlines whilst utilising and planning my schedule accordingly. I studied 20 modules over 3 years including: Popular Modernism and a dissertation focusing on the representation of the female body and deviance in French New Wave Cinema in the 1960s.
