About me
My name is Eleni and I have graduated from a Photography BA (Hons) course. With a previous diploma and a long career in Sound Engineering and Music Technology, I cover a wide range of audio & visual requirements. With an outgoing personality, I find it easy to relate with people and I am always keen on making them feel comfortable and confident. Graduating from University with a Photography degree, I have gained experience in analysing the social/political context of various visual materials, discussing subjects around art, as well as producing and exhibiting artworks. Most recently, I curated my solo exhibition consisting of three projections which addressed refugee matters. I collaborated with tutors and technicians, negotiated suitable gallery space, and contributed to the writing part of promoting the show (artist statements, and social media posts). The exhibition took place at the Ruskin Gallery (Cambridge), the Truman Brewery, as part of the Free Range Shows in London, and the Art Number 23 galleries in Athens. With an experience of more than eleven (11) years in the artistic field, I am highly familiar with organisational skills and with managing my own time, or my team's as head of numerous projects. My role as a personal assistant at the Universal Recording label introduced me to the administrative requirements of a company and reinforced my multitasking nature and diligence. Since 2008 I have mainly worked with large teams in the theatres and live concerts to setting up and invigilate exhibitions. My most recent role as an invigilator of the 'Man is Not a Bird' solo exhibition in the St Peter's Church in Cambridge, a church aged from the 12th century, familiarised me with adjustments that must be done when exhibiting in a place with historical importance and background. Lastly, my role as my module leader's research assistant taught me how to collaborate with artists, academics, and practitioners both in the UK and in Zambia, to enhance the YouTube, blog and PhD material. I am happy to provide you with references from previous employers and/or tutors.
