Elif Ciftcioglu (Istanbul 1983) is an artist and production designer living and working in Istanbul. She received a BSc in Visual Communication Design from Sabancı University, Istanbul (2006), and a Master of Fine Arts (Production Design on Performing Arts) from the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne (2009).
Her art works have been exhibited at TUYAP Art Fair, Barış Manço Culture Center, Istanbul, Cow International Illustration Festival (Ukraine), and have been published in Contemporary Art of Excellence, Volume 2 - a fully-illustrated art dictionary that showcases contemporary artworks by emerging artists, curated by Global Art Agency.
In 2010, she designed the stage production iexist.com (as 'I Must Not Theatre’) by writer and director Fleur Kilpatrick, which was presented at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in Australia.
Besides making works using computer technology, Elif also works on glass, using a technique called Flamework (a type of glasswork that uses a gas fuelled torch to melt rods and tubes of clear and coloured glass) as well as creating accessories and conceptual artworks on glass.
