About me
I am a novelist and a translator with a PhD in Literary Practice from the University of Warwick. My research focuses on the intersection of history, human rights, forced migration, translation and contemporary fiction. Part of my doctoral thesis was published in Turkish, prior to the completion of my PhD studies, by the Istanbul-based independent publisher istos, in the summer of 2023. My novel, Operation Mitilini, was launched in a feminist art gallery Arkipelsanat in the seaside Turkish/Greek town of Ayvalık where it is set, and received a warm welcome from a diversified audience of critics and readers. Before joining Warwick University, I worked in marketing and communications for eleven years in Istanbul.
