About me
I have studied and worked in London for the past 5 years, working for and collaborating with a range of artists and designers. In 2015 I graduated from LCF, finishing the year with a self-initiated fashion show open to designers unrepresented by their university. With a footfall of 500+. As an artist and designer my work is concerned with issues surrounding production in relation to materials and people. Fashion's intimacy offers a critical space to address our everyday material relations and the politics of the processes these engage. My relationship with materials as a designer are integral to the philosophy of how I work and what I make; in attempting to bridge the disconnect between material providence, human labour and eventual consumption. I have worked for a large variety of fashion designers and been a part of many costume collaborations alongside developing my own art and design practice which has been shown in exhibitions including WithKin (2017). I am currently studying an MA at Central Saint Martins in Material Futures

SBBD is a self initiated project based between London and the Palestinian Territories in collaboration with artist and creative director Julie Fox. This project developed from a desire to generate ways in which people from diverse geographical backgrounds can relate on a creative level. The aim is to engage in work that combats the current divisive and intolerant political/cultural climate we are facing. The focus is to create work that expands the contemporary narrative of identity within and outside of Palestine encouraging production that has a sustainable impact whilst highlighting skills of local artisans of this geography.

This course, over the duration of two weeks, intensively encouraged us to design for our future needs, working in teams and making us imagine future environments and how what we wear could aid us within them.
