I am a visual artist with a practice that centres on analogue filmmaking, experimental editing techniques and prop construction, amalgamating into thoughtful technicolour, collage-like videos.
I have worked as a Lecturer in Filmmaking within Manchester Fashion Institute whilst independently I often collaborate with a range of practitioners from other creative fields. This has included working with fashion designers such as London based collective Congregation and knitwear designer Ruby Kirby, alongside developing live videos to accompany an all female music residency through Brighter Sounds, and produced music videos with a variety of bands.
I have facilitated workshops with groups of young people across Greater Manchester with focus on processes; helping them understand development of ideas, guiding them to access their imagination and to think positively about their originality, whilst also teaching shooting and editing skills.
Through my work at The Whitworth I worked with the Learning and Engagement team and the Exhibitions Curator to consider and plan workshops to run with the core group of young people, The Whitworth Young Contemporaries.
I also produce live VJ sets which have been performed in the likes of Old Granada Studios and Liverpool Sound City. As my videos have a very vibrant, individual look about them, the live performance is a very immersive experience.
