I’m a one woman dream team, or at least a two-in-one copywriter and art director who is just as great at writing copy as she is designing artwork and taking photos.Locked Pro Plan feature
I’m currently creating content and managing social media for Valery Demure, Sounds Familiar and The Fold London. I’ve recently wrapped up work at Voodoo Ray’s, Ray’s Bar and Dalston Superstore where my work was mostly focussed on content (copy, design and photography) but a bit also on events (largely booking bar DJs and making corporate Christmas parties happen but when given the chance, I’ll immerse myself in a sweaty gay rave because I’m nothing if not multifaceted). In the past, I have done project-based design and/or photography work for clients like The Breakfast Club, Peckham Springs, Bar Story, Lekker Bar, Dance Tunnel, Kat Maconie, Laura Apsit-Livens and The Bar Guys.
I planned and executed communication and marketing strategies across all platforms. This included copywriting, creating imagery for social media and seeding product to fashion influencers, managing samples and developing relationships with media and wholesale contacts. I managed collection launches, sample sales and other events; from budgeting and location scouting to promotion, live activity and post coverage. From idea development to hands-on work, as part of the core creative team I got to work on concepts for sales, promotions and events, as well as art direction for shoots and interior design for pop-up shops. In my time at Miista, the following on Facebook and Twitter doubled. On Instagram it grew from 8k to 63k.
My role revolved around the technical side of STM publishing with responsibilities including proof-reading, XML checking, working with images and graphs. Additionally I was a point of contact for typesetters, developers and authors. Learnt a lot of technical stuff but didn't find my calling in creating graphs out of data I couldn't actually read.
I worked with the Dazed Digital editorial team. My main roles were to assist the team in research for upcoming articles, copyediting and proofreading submissions from freelancers and sourcing relevant imagery to illustrate articles. I researched and came up with interview questions for different artists and did small write-ups of my own. Despite the brevity of it, working under Charlie Robin Jones proved really valuable - obviously having done a degree helped, but it was here that I learned about creating content with a specific audience in mind.
Spent lots of time reading about beer and mobile phones, i.e. going through media coverage to provide an overview of a brand’s portrayal in the media, focussing on how their core values come across and what the response to their PR strategies are like. Accounts I worked on included Samsung and Heineken in the UK, Irish and Estonian press.
My three year degree focussed on writing for in different media contexts, with a specific focus on tailoring content for the web, creative nonfiction and screenwriting. I also experimented film film direction and editing, curation, publishing and graphic design.
