A one-woman art director and copywriter team, or an experienced social media creative. Confident in leading a team of creatives and taking a project from idea to final delivery. A fairly nice human.Locked Pro Plan feature
I work alongside our creative director in developing ideas but also act as a creative producer, art director and copywriter. The main account I’ve been working on is giffgaff mobile, with my work contributing to growth in engagement and awareness of it as a community-first brand. As the first member of the team, I’ve also played a crucial role in helping the agency win the jury award at The Drum Agency Business Awards.
I was the creative lead for social media, creating or art directing all assets for Voodoo Ray’s and its sister venue Ray’s Bar. The job also entailed music programming, private event planning, corporate catering, sales and logistics. My successes included honing in on the target audience on social media, facilitating social conversations and turning corporate catering into a substantial revenue stream.
My freelance work has been a combination of copywriting, photography and art direction. The Fold London, Sounds Familiar and Valery Demure/Objet d’Emotion were my longest-standing clients but I’ve also done project-based design and/or photography work for clients like KTW London, The Breakfast Club, Peckham Springs, Dance Tunnel, Dalston Superstore, Kat Maconie and more. F or a six month period, I was also involved with Imperial Leisure, assisting the creative agency with any social media or CRM related copywriting for Kodak Alaris.
I planned and executed communication and marketing strategies across all platforms. This included copywriting, creating imagery for social media and seeding product to fashion influencers, managing samples and developing relationships with media and wholesale contacts. I produced collection launches, sample sales and other events; from budgeting and location scouting to promotion, live activity and post coverage. In my time at Miista, I helped define the brand values and message, cemented it as an influencer favourite and built a strong community of brand advocates on social media.
My role revolved around the technical side of STM publishing with responsibilities including proof-reading, XML checking, working with images and graphs. Additionally I was a point of contact for typesetters, developers and authors. Learnt a lot of technical stuff but didn't find my calling in creating graphs out of data I couldn't actually read.
I worked with the Dazed Digital editorial team. My main roles were to assist the team in research for upcoming articles, copyediting and proofreading submissions from freelancers and sourcing relevant imagery to illustrate articles. I researched and came up with interview questions for different artists and did small write-ups of my own. Despite the brevity of it, working under Charlie Robin Jones proved really valuable - obviously having done a degree helped, but it was here that I learned about creating content with a specific audience in mind.
Analysing media coverage to provide an overview of a brand’s portrayal in the media, focussing on how their core values come across and what the response to their PR strategies are like. Accounts I worked on included Samsung and Heineken in the UK, Irish and Estonian press.
My three year degree focussed on writing for in different media contexts, with a specific focus on tailoring content for the web, creative nonfiction and screenwriting. I also experimented with film directing and editing, curation, publishing and graphic design.
