About me
A recent Textile Design graduate from Nottingham Trent University. I based my final collection around the creation of biomaterials and visualised them as one-off garments that can dissolve or be reformed. I have a big interest in sustainability and I have made a conscious effort to consider this in my design collections. I am more of a material based designer, but also enjoy experimenting with photography and abstract prints. I also have an interest in creating mood boards and layouts, and have skills in Photoshop and InDesign. Therefore, I would love to go into a role surrounding sustainability, print design or any other creative role.
Projects
  • Material Synthesis - 2021
Material Synthesis - 2021Material Synthesis is a conceptual project exploring the creation of biomaterials and applying them to a couture market level. The collection is comprised of both experimental materials and print designs that are visualised as one-off garments. The idea is that the garments can dissolve or be re-formed after they have been worn, helping to tackle the issue of post-consumer waste within the fashion industry.
  • Earthly Apparel
Earthly ApparelSubmitted an entry into the RSA Student Design Awards 2021, for the Material World brief. My proposal was for a sustainable store, selling biodegradable clothing that would be returned by the consumer after use to be composted. The building would be an educational space, making the consumer aware of how their shopping habits are affecting the environment. The concept is inspired by the cycle of nature, and how nothing in nature is wasted.
  • Biophilia - 2020
Biophilia - 2020A second-year project, experimenting with the creation of different biomaterials. The focus was mainly on using food waste to produce materials. The final product was a trend-style book, consisting of the material recipes alongside relevant visual research and potential product applications.
