I am a highly creative and driven designer, inspired to work with Interior textiles. Specialising in embroidery, fuelled by large scale, fast paced bold mark making. Capturing this energy and translating this into materials, experimenting with print, Jacquard and hand and machine stitch. Always keen to push creative boundaries, I am excited learn new skills, challenges and expertise. Motivated by sustainability all of the fabrics I use are up-cycled, this is something I'm excited about continuing in my design career.
Projects
- Transient Perfection There is something remarkable about the incomplete and damaged; looking at the beauty of uneven surfaces, natural and man made. Using found fabrics to create this interiors collection, I have shown that what is often defined as waste can be transformed through the process of up cycling. Inspired by energetic and bold mark making.
- Surreal SelfInteriors collection following the concept 'Surreal Self’ the concept explores the body form and perceiving it through an abstracted perspective. Whilst layering with shapes and marks taken from my architectural imagery. The design responsibility was an important aspect of my project as all of the fabrics are up-cycled materials.
