Hello! I’m Ellen Li and I’m an illustrator and graphic designer based in London. In my work I aim to take an alternative approach to familiar subject matters sometimes focusing on capturing a specific mood. I have an interest in social matters and passion for sustainable living which are subjects that sometimes creep into my work. I studied at the London College of Communication where I also under took a year in industry, working for The Times, Selfridges, Makerie studio and Thomas.Matthews. Currently collaborating on an illustrated book about autism for young people. I’m open for commissions and collaborative projects.
Work included creating illustrative diagrams and designing information with consideration to interaction, usability and adaptability across different platforms.
Multitasking with teams on a number of different projects, including concept generation, designing posters for print and designing an app. Towards the end of my internship I was commissioned to create illustrations for project about climate change. I worked closely with the client and the team at every stage from ideas generation to the final illustrations.
I worked in a small team, utilizing practical skills to craft intricate paper sculptures for a shop front installation for Watches of Switzerland and a set piece for a magazine photoshoot.
