Over the summer, I worked for West Beach Bar and Kitchen, the restaurant serving, predominantly, the i360 viewing tower in Brighton. Consequently (due to the restaurant being situated below this popular Brighton attraction) this allowed me experience working in a fast-paced restaurant setting. This drove me to work quickly and efficiently on my feet in order to accomplish the restaurant's objectives and become a hardworking member of my team. During my role, my duties included: maintaining sanitation of the tables and restaurant; setting up and closing the restaurant; enforcing social distancing and collecting details for track and trace; hosting, where I was in charge of and managing and taking bookings (online and by phone); cashier; running food and drinks; ad hoc barista; and answering queries and satisfying customer demands.

I worked in the cash office of Brighton’s Amex stadium on match days. My duties included collecting and witnessing cash lifts from the tills, during and after the match; counting and sorting the cash in an efficient and accurate manner; and double counting my colleagues’ work. During my time working there, I fostered my team-working abilities as it allowed for collaboration between people with different working styles I would not have otherwise worked with - this allowed me to hone in my flexibility and ability to change my working style to fit the scenario.
