I am a recent graduate in American Studies open to opportunities in the arts and media industry.
I work at various large scale events across the country requiring me to be incredibly versatile as each job and staffing team is different. The role necessitates being pro-active, enthusiastic and demonstrating excellent communication as I work with varied members of the public and staff.
I worked with the team of organisers to run a three-day 500-person charity DIY music and arts festival. My main role involved assisting with online promotion, however, given the nature of the festival i also organised volunteers, helped build the festival site, and worked throughout the event.
I communicated effectively with prospective students and parents, lead university tours and gave multiple talks on study abroad experience.
I worked to rebuild the garden of a women’s homeless centre. Roles included submitting a successful funding application, organising and attending meetings with the centre and construction partners to plan the DIY SOS-type day and building
I dealt with Constituency queries via phone and email and completed administrative tasks including but not limited to research, filing, copying and assisting with social media.
I volunteered twice weekly as a classroom assistant at a charter school specifically designed to help get children from immigrant and low income families into college. I led exercises with small and large groups and worked 1-1 with disengaged children.
Role included managing email inbox, arranging and attending meetings/note taking, social media output, policy research,speech drafting and general office administration.
I spent a year at the University of California, San Diego where my GPA was 3.95 out of a possible 4.0. Subjects studied included the History of Immigration, The Israeli Palestine Conflict, Gender and Film and Mental Health and The Movies. I also worked on multiple voluntary projects whilst abroad.
Achieved a First in an interdisciplinary course where I was tested through practical and academic means. Completed a dissertation analysing racial capitalism and Donald Trump's election.
