Projects
- PropagandaPropaganda: IBVA Project 6 50x70 Acrylic and Ink on Canvas For this project we were given two options: 1. Create a brand new piece of propaganda, based on Russian, Chinese or American propaganda techniques. 2. Recreate a piece of propaganda, applying your own techniques. I chose to recreate the American-made poster "We Can Do It", symbolising myself as Rosie the Riveter, the original character in the piece. I wanted to highlight self-empowerment and change the simple text to "I Can Do It"
- Self PortraitIB Visual Arts Project 1 : Me 30 x 50cm Acrylic & Poster paint Task: produce a piece of art any chosen medium self-portrait topic Inspiration: I thought for a long while about what art meant to me. I didn’t really have a definite answer and I couldn’t think of anything out of the ordinary. Because of the ambiguity of the project objectives I went into desperation-mode to look for inspiration. I got to looking through some torn up old math notebooks that I had turned into sketchbooks, and old papers that I had doodled all over and realised that I could find the most boring and unimaginative texts and turn them into something I wanted to see. I found the beauty in a paper title: “PHOTOSYNTHESIS” it would say, and I’d turn it into a garden of doodles. I consider myself a human colour pallette because I can’t help myself but doodle every second of the day. So I thought I’d paint myself, drawing myself.
