About me
I am a 2nd Year Fashion Design & Marketing student at Northumbria University, currently on my placement year and actively looking for work in the field of fashion design or promotion, as a requirement for my degree, to gain experience in the fashion industry.
Projects
  • DIGITAL PORTFOLIO
DIGITAL PORTFOLIOThis is my most recent project where I designed a collection for my own hypothetical brand. I chose to revolve my brand around individuality, freedom and sustainability and took inspiration from 1960s technology and space for my product concept, taking the form of bold prints, colours and puffy silhouettes.

I assisted with costume making and measuring as well as costume changes backstage at the shows. This was a very fast-paced role that required good organisation and, due to working in a large team of 20+ people, required good communication.

So far, university has supported me in developing my Photoshop, Illustrator and other digital skills whilst teaching me how to create tech packs that would be suitable for use in industry. I have learnt to conduct in-depth, wide ranging research to support my design concepts and to thoroughly develop my ideas through experimentation using colour, silhouette, detail, print and 3D creation such as toiling and garment construction. This course has taught me how to adapt the basic rules of pattern cutting to create my own design. I have also learnt how to sew to a high standard. The tight deadlines during this course have further consolidated my organisation and time management skills and I have also learnt how to work well within a team of creative people but am also able to work well independently.
