About me
As a naturally caring and empathetic person, I enjoy helping others to achieve their goals, as well as supporting them to work to their highest standard. Whilst working within the fashion industry as a designer, I was drawn to helping people find their feet and develop in a role as much as possible. I always set aside time to focus on their needs. I discovered my calm and patient personality is a vastly important skill that allows me to assist others, and more notably, enjoy it. After noticing these tendencies within myself, I ventured into the world of teaching. In 2021, I completed my PGCE at The Institute of Education, UCL - where I received a letter of commendation. Over the past few years teaching, I have been able to share my specialist industry knowledge with young people who are eager to learn, whilst also developing my own skills, design practice and pedagogies. I have continued to develop my own design practice by freelancing and taking a varied amount of art and design courses. Ultimately, I am looking to combine my industry and teaching knowledge within a facilitator role.
Projects
- Beyond SeeingI was selected to partake in ‘Beyond Seeing’ a research program initiated by Goethe-Institut of Paris in cooperation with four renowned fashion schools from Germany, France, Sweden and Belgium. The research program brought together a mixture of designers and visually impaired people. We then explored how a world without image exists within different art practices but, in particular, fashion. Goethe-Institut exhibited our collaborative work in the Museum WIP, La Villette Paris.
