About me
Hello! I am a masters advertising student studying at London College of Communication. My areas of interest include creative copywriting, strategic planning, and music led marketing. I would love to learn more about any of these areas, and am happy to do any kind of voluntary work to get to know the industry better. On a personal note I love walking, drawing and partying. Thanks for your time!

I volunteered for 2 weeks with the event team at GOSH, in preparation for the friendship ball. I was in charge of various admin tasks, such as creating spreadsheets of vital client data, organising staff travel back from the venue on the night, and preparing the celebrity guest riders. I also was able to express my creativity. I researched and got quotes for activities and promotional goody bag gifts for the patients valentines party, and found potential readings for the carol concert. At the ball itself, I welcomed guests, prepared promotional material and managed tables during the proceedings.

Since starting my MA Advertising course, I have discovered a strength in copywriting, and a developed interest in brand language. Writing has always been an interest of mine. During my time at Leeds I wrote for the Tab and I have thoroughly enjoyed writing a B2B advertising blog during the course. I have also had the opportunity to investigate my interest in 'underground' culture further. Via an in-depth content analysis within an exclusive Facebook music group, I investigated the perception of brand sponsorship within the electronic dance music scene. This is an area I would love to explore in my career, as well as the use of music more broadly as an advertising agent. In a broader sense, on the course I have thoroughly enjoyed learning theoretical perspectives within the creative industries discourse, as well contemporary debates around future technologies. This has reinforced my idea of the industry as dynamic and culturally reflective, and something I want to be part of. Furthermore, I have thrived working in a creative team and with clients. Considering myself an extrovert, I absolutely love this social aspect of advertising work.

Studying sociology enabled me to embrace my curiosity. I was able to study a wide range of cultural areas and their effect on the individual in depth, and from differing perspectives. This taught me to think laterally about almost anything, and has helped guide my creative roots when working on briefs in class. My university degree also enabled me to learn about conducting human-based research. For my dissertation, I conducted semi-structured interviews with fans of electronic dance music. I used snowball sampling to access participants, and through this spoke to some industry experts (DJs, and a record-label owner). It taught be how to situate, access and draw in-depth data from specific populations, even when they consider themselves part of an ‘underground’ culture.
