About me
Having held positions both in PR and journalism, I am a confident content creator with plenty of experience managing social media channels. In recent years I have specialised in charity communications but I also written for a variety of lifestyle outlets - having interned and gained experience at publications such as Red Magazine, Woman & Home, the Evening Standard and the Daily Mail Weekend Magazine. Outside of working hours I paint and create illustrations - mostly focusing on animals and wildlife.
Projects credited in
- Herd of SheffieldFor the Herd of Sheffield public art exhibition, the concept of my elephant links back to Sheffield’s heritage as a city internationally known for its steel production. Inside the sculpture I decided to create an elaborate steel wire frame made up of wires, engine parts, cogs and lights. The lights were powered by two solar panels that were fitted in the head so to draw in the most amount of sunlight over the course of the day. I cut away sections of the fiberglass casing, allowing the organs of the cyborg elephant to be displayed for all to see. Each cut out section was then covered in acrylic to protect the delicate structure. The rest of the elephant was covered with a chrome wrap and rivets to give it a metallic looking outer shell. http://www.herdofsheffield.com/

Senior Press OfficerMind
- London, United KingdomFull Time
As a Senior Press Officer at Mind, I was responsible for planning and delivering PR for Mind’s national fundraising campaigns – including their flagship fundraising product: Crafternoon. My work on this project resulted in the largest amount of coverage ever secured for Crafternoon. In this role I regularly interviewed beneficiaries of Mind, working with national UK media to tell their stories around mental health in a sensitive, responsible way. At Mind I briefed senior policy stakeholders ahead of national TV and radio appearances and supported junior colleagues as they responded to media enquiries - providing guidance around reputational risk areas and fundraising queries.

MA in Magazine Journalism (Distinction)University of Sheffield
- Sheffield, United Kingdom
During my MA in Magazine Journalism I produced three magazine brands, one of which was nominated for the ‘best magazine concept’ award at the Magazine Academy Awards in 2015. My MA also included modules on short film production and photography – both skills which I would love to build upon. I also studied media law, news reporting, ethics and gained invaluable experience in feature writing and interviewing.

BA in English Literature (First)University of Sheffield
- United Kingdom, Sheffield
Studying English Literature at the University of Sheffield gave me incredible insight into a vast array of poetry, theater, film, literature and theory from the middle ages to modern fiction. Over the three years I greatly developed my written and analytical abilities. During my time at Sheffield I also interned as a Lifestyle & Travel Editor for our University newspaper, managed a 30-piece jazz band and worked at our campus coffee shop as a barista.
