About me
I am a multidisciplinary illustrator with a passion for storytelling. I am fascinated by the communicative and educational power of images, especially concerning current affairs. I am interested in book design, editorial illustration and children’s fiction, and like to use expressive characters and humour to engage viewers. My children's fiction work has been on display in the Key Colours 'Kleurboel' exhibition 2020 in Hasselt, Belgium, after having been shortlisted for their international children's book competition. I am a highly motivated and organised individual and can adapt to various time constraints. I am a proficient user of Adobe software including Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator, and have a good knowledge of graphic design, typography and animation thanks to my Erasmus at ARTS2 École Supérieure des Arts, Belgium, as well as my work experience so far.
Projects
  • Children's Book 'How to Be a Star'
Children's Book 'How to Be a Star'This book explores themes of identity and comparing oneself to others, and is a reflection of my passion for early 20th century theatre, cabaret and film. It was inspired by my dissertation research into education and how children are increasingly pressured to achieve success at a young age rather than being allowed the time to discover themselves. Made with ProCreate for iPad using photocollage techniques.
  • Series of Editorial Illustrations
Series of Editorial IllustrationsA side-project for my final year of university which aims to showcase my ability to illustrate different topics and genres of editorial content. They are in context here so the different articles and genres can be seen, e.g. society, environment, travel and politics.
  • Love Poem Anthology
Love Poem AnthologyA series of love poem illustrations as an entry for the Folio Book Illustration Competition 2019.
