About me
I am a commercial Surface Pattern Designer from Stoke-on-Trent who will shortly be graduating with a 2:1 degree from Staffordshire University, during my time here I have worked for live briefs with Johnson's Tiles and Winnovate Wilko's. I have done many self-led projects which have contributed to a developed and sophisticated style, within these I have focused on developing my drawing skills by producing lots of initial visual studies and adapting them to create a range of versatile products. I grew up outside on family camping holidays which has influenced my love for the outdoors, the passion behind my work comes from my concept that we need to connect with nature for our own wellbeing. My passion has had a strong influence on my work, I create eye-catching designs inspired by nature and wildlife, each design begins with hand drawing and painting combined with expressive colour. Although my usual design preference is for areas within home interiors, I welcome all briefs for all product areas.
Projects
  • ALL THE BLOOM
ALL THE BLOOMThe glowing shine of the sun reflects down it’s light onto the intricate beauty of an old cottages English Garden. Working from an exaggerated colour palette found already within florals. Analysing imagery and focusing on it's shape and colour through the use of paint and mark making to produce a digital fabric collection. The collection will be used for interior furnishings such as cushions, rugs, curtains and beddings.
  • ENGLISH GARDEN
ENGLISH GARDENInspired by the project 'All the Bloom'. Adding a twist for everyone's taste. Focusing on soft furnishing's such as tea towels, rugs and cushions, with a drop of wallpaper! I especially loved seeing the colour contrast of these two projects.
  • INTO THE WOODS
INTO THE WOODS'Come into the woods to the blossoming meadow of flowers, to a place where you can sit and play for numerous hours. Relax under the trees where the woodland animals lie, to get ready for bed under the twinkling night sky.' Focusing on a younger girls nightwear collection, interpreting a woodland theme of animals and florals to create a magical night time.
