- SUM OF ITS PARTSUsing machine learning to objectively produce audio/visual representations of a collection of artist’s and designer’s approaches. Neural networks fed with archives of each practitioner’s work were tasked with generating something new based off of what was inputted. The produced animations depict the neural network’s dreams influenced by the portfolio it studied. Each animation was scored in collaboration with the artist in a way that they felt audibly represented their work. The virtual exhibi
- LALGRGALA–RSL3A…LINUsing Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to create new furniture using every image from the IKEA catalogue. Results were built and rendered using 3D modelling software, much like the rest of the IKEA catalogue. A second neural network decided the name of each product by learning every existing name in the catalogue and suggesting new ones. A visualisation of the cognitive difference in machine vs organic thought. AI assistance (Siri, Alexa) is too often boiled down to subservient slaves. Wha
- KeyboardA software/hardware combination remaps a custom built QWERTY keyboard into musical scales, taking both the tactile qualities from mechanical keyboard switches and the expressive freedom and customizability from MIDI piano keyboards. Designed alongside software to either be used as a tool for production or run in the background as one types, the Keyboard is for both typists and musicians. The tool provides a fresh means of inputs for existing composers stuck in melodic ruts as well as open up the
