Modual: is an innovative educational initiative created by Fred Deakin, Professor at University of the Arts London, to equip students with digital, entrepreneurial and collaborative skills that will empower them to thrive in the creative industries after graduation.
Over the course of an intensive two week period, students explore their inner creative purpose and develop vital cross-disciplinary collaborative skills: they then create their own 'pop-up design studios' to develop innovative projects that will change the world for the better, with regular mentorship from leading industry experts along the way. At the end of the second week the students present their projects to a live audience of creative industry leaders, peers and investors.
Over the course of the two weeks I mentored a pod of fifteen students. The first few days we connected digitally with the help of Fuze and Slack, later on we met physically in Somerset House.
