I taught pupils aged 3-16 in a school in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, for three months as part of a TEFL Internship with the company i-to-i TEFL. During my teaching, I had to carry out the following tasks:• Ensuring I made lesson plans for all my upcoming lessons – researching and printing off relevant hand-outs and worksheets, and also finding any visual aids to use in my teaching.
• Building a good relationship with my students as I wanted to come across as helpful and approachable, and also with the local teachers so I had a good knowledge of what the students have been previously taught and their academic status.
• Reinforcing classroom rules so that the students are are well-behaved and focused.
