This masters degree gave me great insight into the industry and focused on the academics and practicalities of documentary film. I gained experience in project management working on a mock social action film whilst collaborating with international students despite differing time zones. I independently produced, directed, stared and editing my first short film ‘Forget Me Not’ and 25 minute audio-visual dissertation ‘Motherland’ with guidance from my tutor. I also undertook a placement as a Production Assistant for the Holland and Barrett UK team at Electric House social media publisher.

Studied Joint Honours Drama and English at the University of Birmingham for 3 years. Favourite modules include ‘American & World Cinema’, ‘Directing’, ‘Shakespeare’s Tragedies’ and ‘Dance Theatre’. My dissertation completed during the first UK COVID-19 lockdown was on ‘Identity construction in horror films set in Sweden’ which received a 78 (high first) grade and I graduated with a first class degree overall.
