Within my role of a graduate intern, I work alongside the College of Social Science's Marketing Intelligence and Recruitment Officer to oversee the marketing of six schools within the university. I am mainly involved in overseeing, organising and coming up with college events and helping in the organisation and running of university-wide events such as open days. I regularly write copy for leaflets and flyers for our schools and work closely with our social media team to ensure we are not only engaging with our current students, but also attracting prospective students.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Bailgate Independent Magazine, a news-based magazine in Lincolnshire that prides itself on it's great ties with businesses across the county. I regularly conducted interviews and wrote articles for the magazine as well as taking photographs for some of these. During my internship, I was a part of a major collaboration with the award-winning Visit Lincoln to create the 'Visit Lincoln What's On Guide', which is one of the most widely circulated magazines in Lincolnshire.

My degree was NCTJ accredited, meaning I have achieved my 100 words per minute shorthand and a Gold Standard Level 3 Diploma in Journalism. During my third year, I also worked as a part of a team of six to create a unique baking magazine, targeted at young teens. Thanks to the passion and dedication we all had for the magazine, my team won an award at our graduation ceremony for Best Team. I also took part in two-weeks worth of work experience at the Lincolnshire Echo as a news reporter and one week shadowing a news photographer at the Newark Advertiser. We were actively encouraged to get involved with the student-led publications, and I regularly wrote for the online magazine, The Linc.
