About me

Hello, I'm Emily. I have recently graduated from Exeter University studying Art History and Visual Culture. I have always been enormously passionate about Art and Design, and have my own Pet Portrait business which I find so rewarding. I have always loved being creative and have designed logos, t-shirts and labels for many friends along with Equestrian Teams and Exeter Snow Sports Society. In addition to my love of art, I also have a passion for health, wellness and fitness, which I love exploring further as an Independent Consultant for Arbonne. I have a large interest in the ways in which art and design can cause people to react and feel subconsciously, basing my dissertation on Freud's The Uncanny, exploring artists responses to his work, throughout surrealism.

I have worked as an Arbonne Consultant for just over 3 years now. This role is based off commission so in order to succeed I have to put the hours and work in to get anything back. As a health and wellness business Arbonne has taught me so much about this industry, which I find fascinating. The power of plant based and botanical ingredients within nutrition, skin care, makeup and so much more has really opened my eyes to this side of the beauty industry, and is something I am enormously passionate in. This job has helped me gain the understanding of running my own online business, the importance of time management, along with how to process rejection within a business concept.

Emily Costain Pet Portraits is my own self developed and run Pet Portrait business, I started in order to learn how to run my own business and earn money from something that I have a massive passion for. My pet portraits have taught me time management, and also how to organise and communicate with customers when they require something unique to them (which all my portraits are). Through my experience with my own business, I have learnt how to use social media to gain a greater interest in my works and as a result receive commissions. I have also been able to create my own website, and have designed my own leaflets, flyers and stickers for my brand.
