About me
I have always believed that a businesses ability to do well and run efficiently lies in the people that they have behind them; if they look at the people that work for them and encourage and support them with the correct culture their employees will inevitably work harder, be more efficient and give back to the company with high quality work.
This has be shown not only in theory to me during my degree but also in practice; currently working for a company that treasures and nurtures their culture - but also clearly shown by the ever expansion of companies that try to encourage their values everyday, encouraging their workers to be excited to work for their company.
This being said a culture can only support workers that want to and do work hard; I am extremely hard working and ensure that no matter what piece of work I do, I not only get it one within the deadline given to me, but also to the highest quality I can produce. Which has been proven with senior stakeholders within the business praising my work.
I believe that being successful in business is not only down to knowledge of the market and its consumers, but also communication. A business must clearly communicate with its stakeholders to ensure that the image of the company is fluent precise and consistent; having witness how businesses have sometimes got this wrong I ensured that I was able to communicate effectively to external stakeholders and was even put in charge of a relationship and was their sole point of contact, as they praised my ability to communicate with them where they have found others have failed. I also believe that it is important to promote and encourage women in the workplace and have an interest in this area having read Sheryl Sandberg's Lean in and Arianna Huffington's Thrive.
I have been told that many people before I started my job were worried about my age and lack of experience and whilst I was shocked that this was even thought about, I quickly proved that I had a right to be in the job I was given and that my work was of high quality, even being put into a room with 4 members of the board to present my first piece of work, a situational analysis of the personal loan market.
I work consistently and willingly as part of a team and really appreciate interacting with different people and using everyone's different skills to ensure a job is done. Showing this from an early age; heading a team of the Royal Naval Service Section in the Combined Cadet Force at school and working as part of a department team at MotoNovo Finance and St. James’ Place Wealth Management.
