About me
have two years’ experience working in a fast-paced London buying office in addition to a degree in Fashion Communication and Promotion. I have additional experience in communications from interning in the press and marketing department at the high street vintage store, Beyond Retro. I’ve also worked as a creative intern for a start-up beauty brand to produce engaging online content. My experience ranges from fashion buying, creative marketing, and events. From head of logistics for my degree show at university, to involvement in one of the UK most exciting music festivals as artist liaison officer. I am always open to new and exciting projects that align with my passion for marketing and communications. My writing experience is best shown in my academic dissertation, exploring the current and future landscape of fashion presentation. My love of writing and research also extends to my personal blog, set up to document life in a creative and fun way. The blog is often geared to what I enjoy most, exhibition visits, fine art shows, and discussing and critiquing fashion. My proficiency in image sourcing and research has been proven through achieving a 2:1 in my university degree, followed by professional projects such as trend reports and market analyses. Working in my current role, as a buying admin assistant, I am highly effective in supporting a busy and demanding department as part of an international buying office. I deal with suppliers from around the world and am confident communicating new briefs and chasing deadlines through. I am comfortable with accountability, having the sole responsibility of department critical path, I work well independently or within a larger team. For my role as Head of Logistics in my degree show team, I successfully helped manage the promotion and execution of the event. We effectively built an online following to promote the final show, tailoring images that featured the shows ‘tone of voice’ and later began releasing sneak peeks of students’ work to create buzz through online platforms. As a result of my internship at Beyond Retro, I am confident in running professional online platforms to communicate in innovative ways and understand the importance of implementing strategy to achieve results. I bring passion and imagination to my writing and enjoy researching articles on creative topics, as shown on my personal blog I started in 2015. I am proactive beyond my role and always strive to enhance my skills further. In my current role as buying admin assistant, I have taken on extra responsibility as PR and Web & Social representatives for womenswear. I aim to bring new ideas to the department and am motivated by the department and company objectives. I proposed, as web & social rep, to start weekly correspondence with the web team in Scotland. This led to me sending weekly web briefs, feeding back on behalf of all womenswear departments on major trends, key product lines, and styling. The company strategy was to increase our output online, my suggestion helped streamline communication and save time for all teams involved. Please find my CV below for anyone looking for freelance work or recruiters with new opportunities, I am always looking for new and exciting projects to get involved with.
