I'm an MA Graduate with an interest in all things TV. Factual and comedy are my vices! I've worked for two years as the assistant to an agent at Curtis Brown and have developed a niche knowledge of presenters, comedians and writer-performer due to their unusually varied list. We are constantly on the lookout across all platforms for new and upcoming talent whilst providing quality care and management to our current clients.

My main duties at my current job include:
* Suggesting profile comedy and presenting talent for relevant television jobs. Recognising formats that best compliment a specific clients tone and style.
*Maintaining relationships with clients and acting as a trustworthy and reliable point of contact.
* Extensive diary management for over fifty clients. Organising travel and accommodation if necessary.
*General office admin including keeping on top of fan mail, invoicing and chasing invoices, welcoming visitors and ensuring office is ready for meetings and completing expenses.
* Reading client scripts as well as unsolicited script submissions for representation and offering editing notes and feedback.
* Writing copy for show promotion as well as writing up-to-date client biographies for publicity purposes. Making sure we are active on Twitter and up to date on the website.
* Mainly working with the clients who specialise in writing. This includes pushing them for relevant jobs, approaching publishing houses and production companies with their ideas and then negotiating the deal.
* Managing the Edinburgh Fringe Festival period for our comedians. This includes writing copy, ticket management, collating reviews, organising previews as well as their schedules and ensuring they successfully apply for venue space.
* Developing a knowledge of contract language.
*Keeping track of contracts and notes. Chasing fully executed contracts and scanning once completed.
* Managing events and specific requirements for high profile clients as well as attending client shows and events.
* Booking show tickets including sourcing tickets for sold out shows, renewing and keeping on top of various memberships.

In my final year of university I ran for editor of the screen section of the student newspaper. My duties included:
* Responsible for editing, proofreading and writing content as well as managing a team of writers.
* Staying up-to-date with all film and television related news and send out regular content calls.
* Utilising social media accounts effectively to increase readership.
* Covering relevant events, such as BFI Film Festival as well as liaising with local cinemas and film makers.

Children’s Literature MAGoldsmiths College, University of London

I love children's books and have always found the process of learning to engage with story and narrative as a child fascinating. Much of this MA has taught me to recognise not only the history of children's literature but how it works psychologically, and what we intrinsically look for in a story. I am a strong believer in the value of children's media and it's power to mould generations. I made the decision to study part-time alongside my full-time job as an agents assistant because I thrive on challenging myself and apparently hate having a social life.
