I have carved a niche in building new, independent or family-run brands in the on and off trade B2B premium drinks sectors. Most of my experience has been in the spirit and beer trades. However, I do, every now and then, give professional advice on writing for business in a freelance copywriter capacity. I write for trade magazines and have contributed to hundreds of articles on cocktails, spirits, beers or venues and events. I write fiction in my spare time and have been both shortlisted and longlisted for regional and national competitions.

I first tackled the sales structure, implementing new strategies, technology and pricing. I helped to hire a sales account manager. I then phased in a partial re-brand, focusing on new packaging and the website. I'm currently working on expanding the communications model, working on PR, web content, and social media. This year I will plan the ten year anniversary event and shift the brand from a specialist local product to a regional brand.

I wrote a marketing and sales plan focusing on growing on the independent on and off trade B2B sector focusing on growth in the South West region.

www.lovedrinks.co.uk I was the first employee at independently owned drinks distributor Love Drinks. I began as London Account Manager and grew my sales to include the whole of the south of England. When the company grew I moved into a PR and Communications role. I designed and managed the company website, developed the social media and got national recognition for our brands on television, radio and print media.

www.the-bitter-truth.com After being gifted a bottle of The Bitter Truths Tikki Rum I sent them a toung-in-cheek tasting note. On the stregth of that, the founders of the brand hired me to review all their product tasting notes and make them playful, fun and as individual as the products themselves. They now use these notes on their website and product sell sheets.

They had a client - Direct2Print.net - that required some content for their website and hired me to research and deliver that content. They then commissioned an essay on writing language for business which focused on the plain english campaign.
Interned to develop Four Roses Bourbon brand for UK launch. Included writing training manual, developing customer profiles, and inputting ideas for budgets years 1-3.
