Studying BA (Hons) Illustration at Camberwell College of Arts offered me opportunities to challenge the perception of illustration in today’s society. It encouraged me to work with a range of medias, including ceramics, printmaking, painting, animation and textiles. Responding to briefs enabled me to develop artwork for clients such as Southwark Council; local musicians and local businesses around the Camberwell area. It also helped me to develop my understanding of the demands of working within the creative industry.
I have been involved in various markets and fairs, selling my own work ranging from handmade blankets, ceramic plates and illustrative postcards. This is something I continue to do and I am currently working in my family’s business developing Postcard Models (lasercut Z-Scale 1:220 models). I have worked as part of a team to organise craft events, developing posters and organising a ‘live wall painting’ demonstration on the streets of Camberwell.
I am currently working on developing my own Illustration practice and designing packaging for our family business.
