My involvement with The Panoptic began with the contribution of social media analysis articles. After having successfully demonstrated my social media expertise I was soon asked to help out with the digital marketing side of things as the website continued it's rapid expansion across UK universes and beyond. I now voluntarily offer my advice, content production and publication skills on an almost daily basis. My main tasks include creating consistently stylised content for the Instagram using Photoshop-style editing programs to coincide with the publication of articles and maintain The Panoptic's online branding aesthetic. I also manage the Twitter and successfully set up a 'Pod' for the Facebook which has boosted Facebook post reach for The Panoptic by 80%. I am also working closely with the Editor-in-chief to develop social media-based recruitment strategies. I use my knowledge gained from social media resources such as podcasts and service blogs to develop online recruitment tactics across all the main social media platforms.

     -
During the course of my Film and Literature degree, I quickly became the ‘go to’ person for aiding with the administrative and marketing side of student film production. This involved learning to write mass emails for fundraising, designing and maintaining web pages, and developing social media campaigns to raise awareness and increase audiences for both pre and post film production. I was also responsible for organizing casting events and creating and distributing itinerary to the cast and crew for shooting. Because of this I developed my skills in online multi-platform communication as well as task and time management whist using standard office packages, this was the beginning of my interest in communications, particularly social media marketing.
