During my time as a Specialist Note-Taker for students with visual and hearing impairments at the University of Reading, my editing and typing skills were tested and taken to a very high standard. There were no room for mistakes, as deadlines were extremely tight and the client needed the set of information back to them within a short timeframe. I am comfortable working both individually - as this job needed - and as part of a team. This job made me realise my passion for content creation and editing information, and in my spare time between lectures I would edit the content of my work and ensure it was held to the utmost standard. Whilst this profession was very interesting and pushed me out of my comfort zone - I was able to learn a variety of different subjects that I had not undertaken previously - I have always felt my interests lie in the Marketing and PR world and I am eager to begin my career in this sector.

In the early stages of my professional career, I worked as a Sales Assistant at Schuh from May 2015-September 2019. My time here helped me greatly with learning about the trends within a business and what it takes to manage one. I would often be in charge of promoting the ‘Best Sellers’ and displaying the shoes in the way that I thought would make them sell, achieving some great results. I was the recipient of an award called a ‘Silver Star’, and was the first part-time worker to do so in the Reading branch. This award is for people who consistently go above and beyond what is expected of them to achieve the best results for the company. My hard-working manner was also showcased over the busy Christmas period, when I was recognised by the divisional manager of the South of England for earning the most amount of money for the company in one period.
