I'm a film and TV producer with 7 years producing experience. Training from BFI Producers Lab, We Are Parable/ Channel 4’s “Momentum” mentoring programme and an alumna of The National Film and Television School’s MA in producing where my studies were supported by a BAFTA scholarship.
I've been fortunate to have had fantastic mentors, producers Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor, Christopher Graniere Defere and Claudia Yusef, (head of development at BBC Film). Of the graduation films I produced, the animation won a student Academy award and the live-action won gold YDA at Cannes Lions.
Prior to producing fiction I worked for 3 years as a short-form producer in-house, and before that had a 10-year career as a food writer and chef specialising in the stories behind world foods. During this time I collaborated on (and presented) a Channel 4 unscripted series (that shot worldwide) and co-wrote the accompanying book. I work internationally and learn from varied approaches to narrative in different countries and cultures. As a mixed-heritage person who grew up travelling, working with universal stories and co-producing internationally feels the natural way for me to work as a producer.
Last year I produced a project for Youtube and developed an interest in producing commercials piqued by "Everything Everywhere All at Once", which highlighted the highly transferable and effective skillset commercial directors possess, particularly for genre leaning commercially viable work that I'm interested in producing. To this end I'm currently developing and expanding my slate of films and TV, whilst seeking additional opportunities to exec produce and produce to further my experience. Amongst other projects I'm working on a feature film "I (Who Have Nothing)", alongside lead producer Rebekah Gilbertson of Rainy Day Films, and will be producing a block of a BBC series later in the year. I'm represented by Mark Casarotto of Casarotto Ramsey.
