    • Film Production: Throughout my time at Royal Holloway, I have been able to develop my camera skills, and learn about various exciting editing software’s. At the beginning of 2017 I undertook a project which involved producing a documentary concerning a health and fitness blogger who overcame an eating disorder and is now striving to raise awareness about mental health. • Managing Budgets: Keeping track of outgoings for a production is an essential part of creating successful content. In my first year at Royal Holloway I was a producer for two collaborative productions whereby we had a very limited budget. I learnt how to source necessary props at reasonable prices, whilst allowing room within the budget to provide refreshments to the crew and actors on set. • Presenting to groups: I have had to pitch a documentary to a panel of producers from BBC, Channel 4 and Vice. Several weeks later, I went on to pitch a drama idea to a panel of commissioners from the BBC. These experiences have played a vital role in developing my confidence in selling an idea to commissioners. • Writing Reports: In my final year I completed a media research project which examined the effectiveness of the BBC’S content and promotional strategies amongst university students. Conducting 15 in-depth interviews with a variety of undergraduate students, I inquired about how often students were engaging with the BBC, and if the living habits of a student had any impact on their relationship with the BBC. • Content Creation: My final digital project concerned eating disorders. I created ‘Recover You’; an interactive documentary that aims to inform people about eating disorders and provides information about how and why to seek help. In order to ensure I was creating an ethical and well-researched project, I collaborated with mental health professionals to produce short interview-style videos to embed within the digital project.
