About me
I am a passionate copywriter with 7 years of experience. Previously writing for various print and online media, both here in the UK and for clients overseas in the United States and mainland Europe. I am looking for an in-house position where I can add value and support to the team but also develop and grow as an individual. After studying English and American Literature at Keele University, the past six years I have been working as a freelance content writer and editor. Having gained experience writing in different styles for numerous target audiences whether they be B2B or B2C. Topics have included: interior design, start-up businesses, fashion, technology, sport, food & beverages, non-for-profit organisations and general news and events. However, since this point, the majority of my positions have been remote. Whilst working as a freelance writer I have had to use my initiative to source projects and contacts. I have invested my time to study important digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Photoshop, MS Office, Prezi and In-Design. I have a qualification in ‘The Online Fundamentals of Digital Marketing’ from Google. In addition, I follow a number of leading content writers and strategists’ newsletters; to keep up to date with the latest marketing, social media and PR trends. This helps me to devise the best possible copy for websites and social media. Equally, I am comfortable with creating or editing traditional print-based material such as magazines, brochures, lookbooks, posters and flyers. I have developed excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills to successfully manage multiple assignments; thus, meeting deadlines across different time zones and work frames. My focus and time management skills enable me to work independently, but I am more than comfortable to brainstorm and delegate tasks to develop content strategies for the day, week or month ahead. As a content editor, I have experience working alongside fellow writers and interns to help with grammatical and literary style. I have some HTML knowledge, with basic graphic design using Photoshop and InDesign to make magazines, flyers or web layouts - with working knowledge of Web Content Management Systems built with WordPress and Symphony. A unique skill I can bring to any position is my ability to translocate articles for the relevant market, working very closely with Italian brands in the past to create localised English versions. First hand I have been part of the on-site team for exhibitions and events; organising social media commentary and direct engagement and interviews with prominent figures in their industry. i.e. top Italian chefs, food artists and interior designers.
