About me

I am a freelance photographer and video director with 4/5 years worth experiencing of working in the field. As a photographer my commercial experience ranges from music campaigns, fashion/editorial, theatre, museum collections and events. I hold a first class honours degree in Photography from De Montfort University and a masters degree in Art History and Museum Curating from the University of Sussex. It is because of this that I am looking to broaden my horizons and experience in the Museums sector as a photographer. I am currently a freelancer for the Charleston Trust in Firle, East Sussex, and have also been recently commissioned by the Jane Austen House Museum, Hampshire, as an events and workshop photographer. As well as my commission and freelance work I am also a working and exhibiting photographic artist. In June I was lucky enough to be one of five photographers that was chosen to advertise 1845.media - the publishing house of The British Journal of Photography, with my image 'Out to Ftena'.

Art History and Museum Curating with Photography

University of Sussex

Sep 2014 - Sep 2015

  • For my masters dissertation my research included the History of Sexuality (particularly homosexual), spanning from Ancient Greece to Victorian England. My study included the convergence in time in the late 19th Century between the technological advances in photography; the prominence of male prostitution which led to the criminalisation of 'acts of gross indecency'; the rise of sexual disempowerment in women; and the role of pederasty in early representation of homosexuality in visual culture.

2013

Photography Video

De Montfort University

Sep 2010 - Jun 2013
  • Leicester, United Kingdom
  • I studied a three year programme in photography and video in which I focused in black & white, medium format photographs of landscape, architecture, portraiture, and their relation - through the implementation of controlled light - to each other.
