About me
A recent Journalism graduate, I am ready and determined to venture out into the world of media. My interests range from music and film to lifestyle and fashion, though through my years of experience in researching, crafting and sharing stories, I believe I can turn my skills to any topic and create something informative and entertaining.

Work history
    Creative Intern
     - Internship
As the leading magazine in Sheffield and South Yorkshire, I was able to contribute to around four monthly issues and gained invaluable experience in using CMS systems and social media platforms to promote the stories. Features and interviews were the main pieces I worked on, alongside gig reviews and basic administrative duties. I had the opportunity to interview big names like Dynamo, Rob Beckett and Beverly Knight and through this and my own music and film blog, I have well-rounded experience in researching, interviewing and collating an enticing read. I also used Tweetdeck on a daily basis to share stories with readers and was invited to manage the social media accounts during the Exposed Awards 2016, an extremely busy period for the company.
    Writer
     - Freelance
I have sought out freelance opportunities whilst studying at Sheffield Hallam, mainly gig and album reviews for local magazines and online content. Strict deadlines and self-editing were two of the most crucial disciplines I learned over the years and juggling this alongside work and my studies has meant that I can work to a quick and efficient standard. Working with a number of different publications meant that I can write in a number of styles, tones and topics. I also took part in producing a quarterly fashion magazine, called Nettle, aimed at cash-strapped millennials in Sheffield. Writing fashion features was a new experience for me but I am an avid reader of fashion publications and am constantly scouring the internet for new finds, therefore pitching ideas came easily. Seeing the magazine grow from idea to physical, 34-page copy was one of the most rewarding experiences thus far and it gave me an insight into the mechanics of fashion media: from brainstorming ideas to sourcing clothes and locations for the shoots to sub-editing, I believe it gave me a plethora of skills that I look forward to using in the future.

Education
    BA (Hons) 2:1 in Journalism
My three years at university gave me extremely versatile skills that would be suited to marketing, publishing and producing copy. Through this course, I gained a deep understanding of media law, social media, radio, TV and most importantly writing lifestyle and entertainment features for mainstream and special interest publications.
