I recently received a first-class degree in History of Art, a multi-faceted subject that includes feminism, social history, philosophy, and global history. I had a great time researching and writing my dissertation, which was a re-reading of Peter Blake's 'Self-Portrait with Badges' (1962). This course helped me greatly improve my critical thinking and analysis skills by requiring me to read a large amount of scholarly literature. I was an Art History student mentor and a dedicated member of the society during my time in Birmingham. I was also a member of the Women's Society and enjoyed Friday afternoon kickboxing classes. Overall, the three years were a very valuable experience that shaped my skills and knowledge.
