Ester is an internationally-minded multilingual film and arts professional with a passion for getting involved with innovative projects. She is specialised in project development and production; script reading and project assessment; copywriting; proofreading; translation; project and event management; research; grant writing; marketing, sales and acquisitions. Ester works at Pistachio Pictures, working across film and TV development and production,, while freelancing and completing the NFTS Diploma in Script Development. Ester has worked for companies such as Met Film Production, Dancing Ledge Productions and Portobello Productions; and she has worked in marketing, distribution and sales for companies such as Mubi, Picturehouse Cinemas/Picturehouse Entertainment and Dogwoof. She has also worked on artists’ film commissions at Film London, including the flagship scheme FLAMIN Productions and Channel 4 Random Acts productions. Short-term employment during which Ester worked on the development of several film and TV projects, and helped raised public finance on a feature film project soon in production. Duties included: + Working on development of scripts; helping in the packaging process and contributing important ideas to the different productions; reading script submissions and writing script reports + Meeting writers, directors and agents; attending relevant industry events + Coordinating Portobello Film Sales queries; and assisting the company's producers
+ Coordinating artists' film productions (FLAMIN Productions scheme) and broadcast commissions, including shorts for Channel 4's Random Acts - from submission, development and through to delivery. This included assessing projects and taking part in selection meetings and interviews + Coordinating pilot Development Programme, with funding from Creative Skill set, for artist filmmakers wanting to make their first feature. Undertaking research and exploring European funding opportunities for the next editions + Developing the design and structures for future development and production schemes for artist filmmakers + Working with the Promotion and Culture department on the department's Communications strategy, including writing press releases, helping with website and social media, and designing pitching and presentation materials for the department + Coordinating the administration of outputs required for FLAMIN and Film London funders + Coordinating all aspects of the FLAMIN programme of activity + Administrating departmental finance procedure including invoices, purchase orders, tracking payments + Delivering administration and project coordination for specific projects (e.g. workshops, seminars, events, advice sessions, talent development courses, talent development and mentoring) + Assisting with the organisation of the annual Film London Jarman Award and Touring Programme + Representing FLAMIN and Film London at screenings, markets and events as required; and providing relevant feedback to the department
+ Supporting the Production Finance Market (PFM) team by logging and processing applications, answering queries, organising selection meetings + Liaising with the Communications department and coordinating content for the PFM catalogue + Assisting the Project Manager with the meeting scheduling for UK and international producers and financiers attending the market, liaising with market attendees, organising accreditation badges (design, creation and production) + Assisting in the organisation of the Welcome Reception and in the running of the market + Assisting in post-event administration - reporting, sending evaluation forms, etc.
+ Assisting with sales to the International theatrical, DVD, VOD and TV buyers + Managing deliverables and liaising with distributors, producers, filmmakers, festivals and film buyers + Coordinating attendance to festivals and markets (arranging meetings and schedules, film screenings, accreditation, travel, accommodation, etc.) + Organising invoices and dealing with contract and payment queries
Ester worked as Director's Assistant during pre-production on "The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box' (2013). Director: Jonathan Newman; Producers: Entertainment Motion Pictures and Arcadia Motion Pictures. Duties included: + Attending all Heads of Department meetings (casting director and auditions, special effects, art department, costume design, DoP, etc.) - preparing for meetings, taking minutes, organising presentations + Managing the diary of the director - arranging meetings and following up; organising travel arrangements; managing budgets and cash; undertaking research; managing contracts.
+ Researching and promoting films through different social media channels and updating content for the company's website + Writing press releases, finding potential international venues / partners for Picturehouse Entertainment's Alternative Content works + Attending the company's weekly meetings and recording minutes + Liaising with UK-based and International distributors - managing successful delivery of materials and answering all queries when required + Attending sales and press screenings

The degree included courses on: languages, linguistics, cultural theory, literary, history, audiovisual translation (subtitling, dubbing), literary translation, technical translation, juridic and administrative translation, as well as simultaneous and consecutive conference interpreting.
