Freelance sound engineer and producer since 2009, I recently decided to take advantage of my technical and musical skills and experience also in the fields of audio post-production, sound design and music composition for moving images. My studio experience has given me the opportunity to deal with several genres, from rock to dance, from soul to hip-hop, from pop to classical and has led me to work in many different studio environments and set-ups (both digital and analog), from my own studio to larger facilities as a freelance engineer, studio assistant or producer and on the most various kinds of budgets and timetables. My approach to the studio work is always primarily focused on artists’ comfort and needs, because I think that a musician at his ease is always the first and essential step to a good sounding recording. I’m able to use my technical and musical skills in favour of artists’ expectations, by appropriately giving and receiving feedback and actively listening, always using my ears and my musical background in a proactive, fruitful analytical and non-judgmental way. Could it be following a project from the beginning of the writing process or just supervising the recording, mixing and mastering process, providing full finished beats and backing tracks or just help the artist during the song’s arrangement and orchestration, help the artist finding the right musicians for his album (and maybe playing some instruments on it) or even helping in the artistic and conceptual shaping of the entire project, my aim as a producer is to help artists to give shape to their artistic vision by using every mean comes from my varied (and not merely musical) experience. A three years music technology, sound engineering and music production course. It allowed me to further improve my skills by founding them on solid theoretical grounds and through daily practical experiences as well. It also gave me the opportunity to be taught by some of the Italian best producers (Carlo U. Rossi), sound engineers (Marti Jane Robertson, Fabrizio Barale, Marco Migliari, Antonio Baglio), sound designers (Sabino Cannone) and arrangers (Fabio Gurian) and to catch and observe their working methods and techniques. Final grade: summa cum laude.
