About me
Hi, I am an Illustrator and Animator based in London. I adore working with bright colours and creating visual diaries that might contain whatever comes to my brain or sketches of anything I find interesting whenever I go travelling. I also have an Etsy shop called EvieADesign where I sell some of my illustrations as stickers and art prints! As you can see in my profile picture I have a particular interest in Japanese Kawaii which influences my work.
Projects
  • Miniature Dachshund Looking out the Window Illustrations
Miniature Dachshund Looking out the Window IllustrationsThis was a series of illustrations inspired by my sister's miniature Dachshund, who has a cute habit of sitting on his cushion by the window to look outside. I decided to create Japanese-inspired backgrounds for these three drawings to challenge myself to create more detailed background art.
  • Aarrrrnold
AarrrrnoldThis was a short group project during my 5-day Makerversity residency with the Somerset House where my group worked together to craft all the puppets and the setting.
  • From Trash to Treasure; Transformation of Flower Pots
From Trash to Treasure; Transformation of Flower PotsOne day my dad came home with five rough-looking flower pots a client wanted to throw away into a skip. He wanted to see what my thoughts were on adding them to our garden after we had just installed a new patio. I made this into my own project where I would have my parents have their own input on painting these pots white and have a bright colour scheme. I started drawing over pictures I took of the pots to test out what colour schemes would show off their designs beautifully and have feedback
  • Germanic Patterns
Germanic PatternsDuring my time abroad in Cologne, Germany I decided to use my time travelling to various cities across the country and visit Western European countries like Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. While I was able to visit these places I sketched what I saw to create a visual diary. These patterns are based on these sketches where the first had drawings I made in Cologne and other nearby cities like Bonn. The second is of German cities further away such as Frankfurt. The third is of cities outs
  • My Collection
My CollectionMy animation talks about what I personally collect. It is a personal story about the variety of objects I have collected throughout my life that represents my experiences growing up. This was exhibited as part of the 2021 Kingston School of Arts degree show.
  • Doll Wallpaper
Doll WallpaperThis wallpaper I designed and printed is a collage of sketches I made during my visits to toy shops in Germany. My intention was to draw toys that are stereotypically targeted for girls as creepy, deformed, and zombie-like to provoke conversations about gendered marketing towards children. This wallpaper was exhibited during my time studying abroad at Muthesius Academy.

I am volunteering at the Migration Museum to get experience working in a museum environment. I have been assisting with the installation of their All Our Stories exhibition, developing some hands-on curatorial skills. I have also been involved in assisting curators and artists during events.

I took part in a training scheme led by the Old Vic where I worked at the Southbank Centre to get experience working at an arts organisation. I worked with the Royal Festival Hall's Access team where we used problem-solving skills to make graduation ceremonies more accessible for disabled students and guests. I also got to work at the Hayward Gallery as a visitor assistant where I utilised my communication skills to use a radio to contact my team and make sure visitors and the artwork were kept safe.

I studied Illustration and Animation where I was able to create and explore a variety of issues and ideas with my work. I studied abroad for a semester in 2019 at Muthesius Academy (Kiel, Germany) where I designed a wallpaper that was exhibited at the end of the semester. I created work for clients such as Sanrio during my studies and exhibited at the end of my course an animation I made telling my story of what objects I have collected throughout my life and how they represent my experiences growing up. I also made my first connection to the Koln International School of Design where after many difficulties with the pandemic managed to secure my after-graduation internship.
