Fabio Mota started his career as a child actor in Portugal, but eventually went behind the cameras to direct fiction. Naturally more fascinated about light and glass, he eventually pursued cinematography and worked on various docs, commercial and fiction projects in Berlin and Lisbon.
In 2016 he join the cinematography MA at the National Film & TV school in the UK, under the mentorship of Oliver Stapleton & Stuart Harris, where he was awarded the support of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
