NCS participant 2015 cohortNCS with The Challenge
The National Citizen Service is a voluntary personal and social development program for 16–17-year-olds in England and Northern Ireland. I was part of the NCS 2016 cohort. During my time at NCS, I developed self-motivation and character development through different activities. I also engaged and worked with a diverse group of young people. Participated in the public speaking workshop and engaged with the local community. Participating in the NCS challenge enabled me to grow as a person and opened me to things. I have interacted with open-minded and people from different cultures and backgrounds and developed great friendships. Participating in the NCS also helped with my personal development. It enabled me to challenge myself by facing my fears of heights and feeling more confident in public speaking and singing to an audience. Most of all, I have learned that if you want to do something big or small, go for it and challenge yourself, and inspire others.
