About me

Short bio: Fausta Maria Bolettieri, (born in Bari, Italy) is a London-based curator. She devotes special academic and critical attention to the phenomenon of art collecting of the sixties, modern and contemporary western art, as well as to non-western contemporary art practices and movements in the Mediterranean area and the Asia. She is currently involved with Ayyam Gallery in London, a contemporary gallery focused on Middle Eastern artists. She is also co-founder of The Gallery House Archive, based on Gallery House London (1972-73) a significant and undocumented avant-garde gallery space. The research group produced a publication, sponsored by Lisson Gallery and had a first show at Flat Time House London, former studio of John Latham. Nowadays the group is working with the Goethe Institut in London which is hosting an archival exhibition focused on Gallery House and hosted in June a conference with German and British critics, art Historians and artists who debated on the topic of “the space and the avant-garde”. In December 2014 she graduated form a master in Culture Criticism and Curation at Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design, in 2013 two of her curatorial projects won an European Award and in 2011 she was appointed Regional Coordinator of the Italian Pavillion (Apulia Region) of The Venice Biennale, curated by Vittorio Sgarbi. Her critical texts were featured in online publications like Glass Magazine and ItsLiquid.
